First, open an account with Amazon Web Services (AWS); signup for Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2)  and Simple Storage Service (S3). They have an inexpensive pay as you go model which is great for developers who want to experiment with setting up Hadoop HDFS Cluster. Next, order the book “Hadoop the definitive guide” and Follow the instructions in the Section: “Hadoop in the cloud”.

You’ll need access to Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2)
